Broncos RB Phillip Lindsay gets massive jump in ‘Madden’ rating

When EA Sports announced ratings for ‘Madden NFL 19′ last July, this is how the Broncos’ top four running backs stacked up:

1. Devontae Booker (76 overall)
2. Royce Freeman (73 overall)
3. De’Angelo Henderson (64 overall)
4. David Williams (63 overall)

That’s it.

In the first version of last year’s game, rookie Phillip Lindsay wasn’t even in the game. After making the team’s roster, he was added to Denver’s roster.

Lindsay went on to rush for over 1,000 yards and score 10 touchdowns, becoming the first undrafted offensive rookie in NFL history to earn a Pro Bowl selection. By season’s end, his ‘Madden’ rating had increased by 15 points (ratings are adjusted each week).

EA Sports has given Lindsay a bit more respect this year.

Lindsay is rated 86 overall in the first version of ‘Madden NFL 20,’ making him the 13th-highest rated running back in the game. Here’s a look at how the Broncos’ backfield stacks up this year:

1. Phillip Lindsay (86 overall)
2. Royce Freeman (75 overall)
3. Devontae Booker (72 overall)
4. Khalfani Muhammad (63 overall)

It’ll be interesting to see if Lindsay’s rating increase even more this fall. Denver will keep Lindsay fresh by having him share touches with Freeman, which should help both running backs stay healthy.
