Denver Broncos quarterback Teddy Bridgewater was carted off the field and taken to a local hospital after suffering a head injury during Sunday’s 15-10 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Broncos later confirmed that Bridgewater had movement in all of his extremities and coach Vic Fangio provided a positive update on the quarterback during his post-game press conference.
“Everything has checked out good up to this point,” Fangio said. “They’re just going to keep him overnight for observations, but they think he’ll should be and will be fine — eventually.”
Fangio also assumes that Bridgewater suffered a concussion, but he noted that was not official.
If Bridgewater can’t play against the Las Vegas Raiders next week, Drew Lock will start in his place. Lock went 6-of-12 passing for 88 yards with one touchdown and one lost fumble in relief of Bridgewater in the second half.
Lock has stepped into games in the place of an injured Bridgewater three times this year, completing 22-of-40 passes for 227 yards with one touchdown, two interceptions and two fumbles in those contests.
Bridgewater has scored 20 touchdowns (18 passing and two rushing) with seven interceptions and one fumble in 14 games this season.
