Broncos QB Joe Flacco: ‘I’m excited about where we can go’

The Denver Broncos’ offense has had a sluggish start under new quarterback Joe Flacco, scoring just 30 points through two weeks of play.

Despite the team’s slow start, Flacco is confident that the team’s playmakers — Courtland Sutton, Emmanuel Sanders, Phillip Lindsay and Royce Freeman — will start to turn things around soon.

“We’ve got a lot of guys I’m super excited about,” Flacco said before practice Wednesday. “The kind of guys we have on this team and the kind of playmakers we have, not only the kind of playmakers we have, but just their attitudes on Sunday.

“You find out a lot about people with how they show and get ready to play on a Sunday afternoon. It’s exciting to see what’s been going on in the last couple of weeks.”

That excitement hasn’t exactly translated to success on the field — yet. Flacco is confident that it will soon.

“I think we’ve got a lot of ways to beat people and a lot of guys that are gamers,” Flacco said. “They love to play the game and they come up big when the time comes. I’m excited about where we can go for sure.”

After starting 0-2, Denver’s playmakers better turn things around quickly.
