Broncos QB Joe Flacco comments on Patrick Mahomes’ injury

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes left Thursday’s game against the Broncos after suffering a knee injury. Playing without their star quarterback, Kansas City still managed to win 30-6 on the road.

After the game, Denver quarterback Joe Flacco was asked for his thoughts on seeing a fellow QB go down with an injury.

“You feel for anybody who has something that looks like it may be pretty serious,” Flacco said. “That’s not just other quarterbacks, that’s everybody. A young guy like that who’s starting off the career like he has and starting off this season the way he has, it’s not easy to watch guys go down with injuries like that.

“I hope that he’s alright and that he can get himself ready to go. I told those guys to give him my best cause I’m sure he’s feeling it right now.”

Mahomes suffered a dislocated kneecap but is not expected to need surgery. Mahomes is expected to miss about three weeks, which means the QB will likely return in time for Kansas City’s home game against the Broncos in Week 15. Mahomes has never lost against Denver.
