Broncos QB Joe Flacco a fan of Peyton Manning’s Nationwide commercials

Peyton Manning has attended Broncos practice twice this offseason and he’s spoken with new quarterback Joe Flacco each time.

“It’s cool,” Flacco said after practice on June 4. “I don’t really know Peyton that well, so it’s still cool for me. He’s still a guy that I grew up watching play. Now I’m on the same football field as him. I really don’t lose sight of that.”

Manning, 43, retired from the NFL in 2016 after winning a pair of Super Bowls during an 18-year career. Denver players appreciate when he stops by practice.

“Shoot, it’s still Peyton Manning,” Flacco said. “I’m still watching him on Nationwide commercials or whatever he’s doing — just like you guys are — sitting there laughing. Any time I get a chance to talk to him and do those kind of things is pretty neat.”

Manning has been linked to several general manager openings in the NFL but the ex-QB seems content in retirement. He attends every Broncos home game and has remained close to the game without having any of the stress associated with playing for or managing a team.

It’s hard to imagine Manning taking an NFL job anytime soon.
