Broncos projected to receive 3-4 compensatory picks in 2020

The Denver Broncos did not receive any compensatory picks for the 2019 NFL draft but the team should receive up to four extra picks for next year’s draft.

The NFL awards compensatory picks to teams that lost players worth more than the players they gained during NFL free agency. Nick Korte of OverTheCap.com believes Denver could receive up to four compensatory picks next year.

The Broncos lost cornerback Bradley Roby ($10 million), but that loss is likely canceled out by the addition of offensive tackle Ja’Wuan James ($12.75 million). The team also lost center Matt Paradis ($8.5 million), but that is probably canceled out by the addition of cornerback Kareem Jackson ($11 million).

And Denver lost offensive lineman Billy Turner ($7 million), which may be nullified by the addition of cornerback Bryce Callahan ($7 million).

So far, the team hasn’t made any moves to cancel out the losses of linebacker Brandon Marshall ($4.1 million), linebacker Shaq Barrett ($4 million), offensive lineman Max Garcia ($2 million) and cornerback Tramaine Brock (unknown).

There’s a good chance the Broncos could receive comp picks for Marshall, Barrett, Garcia and Brock. We’ll find out for sure in 2020.
