Broncos pounce on Kyle Fuller after Bears release CB

Kyle Fuller didn’t take long to find a new home.

And it’s with a familiar face.

The cornerback, who was officially released by the Bears on Saturday, is signing a one-year deal to play for the Broncos, a source confirmed. He’ll make $9.5 million, per NFL Network. Fuller was set to make $13 million in base salary — and a $20 million cap hit — before the Bears decided to part with him.

In Denver, Fuller will reunite with former Bears defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, who is now the Broncos’ head coach. Ed Donatell, Fuller’s position coach with the Bears under Fangio, is the Broncos’ defensive coordinator.

The No. 14 pick in the 2014 draft, Fuller had spent his entire career at Halas Hall before being released. He tied for the NFL lead in interceptions in 2018 and made two Pro Bowls with the Bears.

The Bears will try to replace Fuller with veterans, including Desmond Trufant, who officially signed on Saturday.
