Broncos place tenders on 4 exclusive rights free agents

The Denver Broncos have placed tenders on four exclusive rights free agents, according to multiple reports. Denver gave tenders to returner Diontae Spencer, wide receiver Tim Patrick, cornerback Shakial Taylor and safety Trey Marshall, KUSA-TV’s Mike Klis was the first to report Monday.

That means the Broncos did not place tenders on offensive lineman Jake Rodgers or cornerback Davontae Harris, who are listed as ERFAs on Spotrac.com. That presumably means Rodgers and Harris will not be re-signed.

ERFAs are players with just one or two accrued seasons. Unlike unrestricted and restricted free agents, these players will not be allowed to negotiate with other teams. They have to sign Denver’s tender offer or sit out the season.

ERFAs are offered league-minimum contracts. This year, the minimum contracts for players with one or two years of experience are $585,000 and $660,000, respectively. So these tendered players are not expensive.

The Broncos also placed a tender on offensive lineman Elijah Wilkinson.
