Broncos place TE Austin Fort on IR, sign OT Adam Bisnowaty

The Denver Broncos have placed tight end Austin Fort (torn ACL) on injured reserve and signed offensive tackle Adam Bisnowaty, the team announced Friday evening.

Fort suffered his injury in Week 1 of NFL preseason against the Seattle Seahawks. The undrafted rookie out of Wyoming will miss the entire 2019 season.

Bisnowaty (6-6, 310 pounds) entered the league as a sixth-round draft pick out of Pittsburgh with the New York Giants in 2017. He started in one game as a rookie before going on to spend time with the Detroit Lions, Carolina Panthers, Minnesota Vikings and Washington Redskins.

Bisnowaty signed with Washington in May but was cut just five days after joining the team and was a free agent the last two months. He is a 25-year-old offensive tackle that will likely be competing for a spot on Denver’s 10-man practice squad this summer.

The Broncos signing an offensive lineman instead of another tight end might be a sign that Jake Butt (knee) and Jeff Heuerman (shoulder) are close to returning to the field.
