Broncos OLB Bradley Chubb has a mindset that he can’t be blocked

Broncos second-year outside linebacker Bradley Chubb dominated the 49ers’ offensive line during his brief appearance in a preseason game Monday. Chubb totaled two quarterback hits, three tackles, one sack and one forced fumble. One of his pressures forced an interception, too.

What’s his trick?

“I just try to go out there with the mindset that I can’t be blocked,” Chubb said after the game. “Even if a guy does block me, the next play, my mindset is telling me that it won’t happen again.

“Even if it does happen again, I’m just going to keep getting back up and keep fighting. I try to keep that mindset in my mind because it brings the best out of me.”

That strategy appears to be working out and Chubb seems to be fitting in well in Vic Fangio’s 3-4 defense. After recording 12 sacks a rookie, Chubb will be looking to have an even bigger year in 2019 and will be eyeing the first Pro Bowl nod of his career.
