Broncos’ offensive depth chart before the NFL draft

As the Denver Broncos prepare for the 2023 NFL draft, the team currently has 18 open spots on their 90-man offseason roster (view the players currently on the roster).

The Broncos are going into the draft with five picks, and they might add more picks through trades. After the trade, Denver will fill its 90-man offseason roster by signing undrafted free agents.

As the NFL draft draws closer, we have been reviewing the team’s projected depth charts on special teams, defense and offense before any rookies are added to the roster.

Today, we’re taking a look at the offense, and there are a few changes since the last update.

Quarterback

QB1 QB2 QB3
Russell Wilson Jarrett Stidham Jarrett Guarantano

No surprises here. The Broncos might bring a fourth quarterback either through the draft or college free agency later this month.

Fullback

FB
Michael Burton

Following the departure of Andrew Beck, the Broncos brought in Burton on a one-year deal. He’s currently facing no competition for the fullback job.

Running back

RB1 RB2 RB3 RB4
Javonte Williams Samaje Perine Tony Jones Tyler Badie
Damarea Crockett Tyreik McAllister

Williams and Perine should form a dynamic duo once Williams (knee) is healthy, but the Broncos could use more depth in case Williams is sidelined to begin the season. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Denver draft an RB.

Offensive line

LT LG C RG RT
Garett Bolles Ben Powers Lloyd Cushenberry Quinn Meinerz Mike McGlinchey
Isaiah Prince Wattenberg Kyle Fuller Wattenberg Quinn Bailey
Christian DiLauro Hunter Thedford Luke Wattenberg Parker Ferguson Will Sherman

The Broncos patched up the offensive line during free agency by signing Powers and McGlinchey, but they could use an upgrade at center and more depth at guard and tackle. Expect to see Denver add more offensive linemen during the draft.

Tight end

TE1 TE2 TE3
Greg Dulcich Albert Okwuegbunam Chris Manhertz

Denver has a solid trio of tight ends on the roster, but the team needs a lot more bodies at the position going into training camp. The Broncos could easily add three more tight ends between the draft and college free agency.

Wide receiver

WR1 Slot WR2
Tim Patrick Jerry Jeudy Courtland Sutton
Brandon Johnson Kendall Hinton Jalen Virgil
Marquez Callaway KJ Hamler Lil’Jordan Humphrey
Montrell Washington

The Broncos have a good group of receivers, but changes to the depth chart are still possible as the draft approaches.

Projected starting offense

QB: Russell Wilson

RB: Samaje Perine (Week 1)

LT: Garett Bolles
LG: Ben Powers
C: Lloyd Cushenberry
RG: Quinn Meinerz
RT: Mike McGlinchey

TE: Greg Dulcich

WR1: Tim Patrick
WR2: Courtland Sutton
Slot: Jerry Jeudy

This projected lineup is subject to change pending the results of the NFL draft, which will take place from April 27-29. Joe Lombardi will serve as the team’s offensive coordinator this fall.
