Broncos OC on Peyton Manning: ‘The more he’s around, the better’

The Denver Broncos had three special guests at minicamp Wednesday: ex-coach Joe Collier and former quarterbacks Archie and Peyton Manning. The practice marked the second time in a two-week span that Peyton has visited the team’s facility.

Denver offensive coordinator Rich Scangarello was thrilled to see the two-time Super Bowl champion back at practice and hopes to see him around the team more often.

“It was great,” Scangarello said. “He was very kind to spend time with us out there last time he was here and today. It’s just great to have someone of his caliber, that’s been in the organization, that’s loyal to the organization, to be around.

“And to sponge any of it up as a coach or as a player, we’re pretty fortunate. Just glad to have him here. It’s been a pleasure. The more he’s around, the better.”

Manning, 43, played with the Broncos from 2012-2015. He won four straight AFC West titles during his time with the team and helped the club reach two Super Bowls, winning one of them. He still lives in the Denver area and attends all of the Broncos’ home games.

It’s safe to assume we’ll be seeing more of him at the team’s facility.
