Broncos not expected to tender WR Jordan Taylor

The Denver Broncos are not expected to place a one-year, $2.025 million tender on wide receiver Jordan Taylor, according to KUSA-TV’s Mike Klis. Because Taylor is a restricted free agent, Denver had the option to place a tender on him.

By opting to not place a tender on Taylor, the Broncos are choosing to let him become an unrestricted free agent. He earned $630,000 last season and a total of $1,739,700 during his four years with the team.

Taylor, nicknamed “Sunshine,” was a fan favorite in Denver. Taylor ran routes for Peyton Manning during the quarterback’s rehab in 2015 and he wowed fans with impressive catches during training camps.

Taylor struggled to stay healthy, though, dressing for just 26 games over the last three years. He caught 29 passes for 351 yards and two touchdowns from 2016-2017 before missing all of 2018 while recovering from hip surgeries.

Taylor joined the Broncos as a college free agent out of Rice following the 2015 NFL draft. He is 27 years old.
