Broncos met with TE Dax Raymond at NFL combine

The Denver Broncos met with Utah State tight end Dax Raymond at the 2019 NFL combine, according to The Denver Post‘s Ryan O’Halloran.

Raymond (6-5, 255 pounds) ran the 40-yard dash in 4.73 seconds and bench-pressed 225 pounds 15 times at the NFL combine. During his three years with the Aggies, Raymond hauled in 72 receptions for 873 yards and three touchdowns.

Raymond is the seventh-best tight end in this year’s class, according to Draft Wire’s Luke Easterling (view the complete rankings here).

“He projects to be flexed out at the next level, where he can win as a receiver,” Draft Wire’s Gavino Borquez wrote of the tight end in January. “An area that I’d like to see some refinement is his technique as a blocker.”

Denver could certainly use more depth at tight end so Raymond is likely among the draft prospects the team is considering this offseason. It wouldn’t be surprising to see the Broncos add tight ends through both free agency and the draft.
