Broncos met with TE Dawson Knox at NFL combine

The Denver Broncos met with Ole Miss tight end Dawson Knox at the 2019 NFL combine, according to The Denver Post‘s Ryan O’Halloran.

Knox (6-4, 254 pounds) did not run a 40-yard dash at the combine but he may run at his pro day later this spring. Knox did bench press 225 pounds 16 times at the combine.

NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein has compared Knox to Minnesota Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph, who has been selected to the Pro Bowl twice in his career.

Over the last two years, Knox hauled in 39 receptions for 605 yards with the Rebels. He is not among the top-15 tight ends in this year’s class, according to Draft Wire’s Luke Easterling.

“He basically played in the slot in Ole Miss’ offense and proved to be difficult to cover most of the year,” Draft Wire’s Gavino Borquez wrote of the tight end last November. “He is too big for cornerbacks to match up with and too fast for most linebackers.”

After failing to put up big numbers in college, Knox will likely be considered a late-round prospect in April’s draft.
