Broncos met with RB Ke’Shawn Vaughn at NFL combine

The Denver Broncos interviewed Vanderbilt running back Ke’Shawn Vaughn at the NFL combine last month, according to KUSA-TV’s Mike Klis.

Vaughn (5-10, 214 pounds) ran a 40-yard dash in 4.51 seconds and posted a vertical jump of 32 inches at the combine. NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein has compared him to Jamaal Williams, who was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the fourth round of the 2017 draft.

“He’s best suited to compete as a backup in a one-cut rushing attack from under center where he can build momentum and create yards after contact,” Zierlein wrote of Vaughn.

After playing two years at Illinois, Vaughn transfered to Vanderbilt. He rushed 572 times for 3,296 yards and 30 touchdowns while in college. Vaughn also caught 66 passes for 648 yards and three more scores.

Vaughn is the 13th-best running back in this year’s class, according to Luke Easterling’s post-combine NFL draft rankings for Draft Wire.

Denver is looking for a running back to complement Phillip Lindsay — Theo Riddick and Devontae Booker will not be re-signed.

The draft will be held in Las Vegas from April 23-25.
