Broncos met with QB Jarrett Stidham at NFL combine

Denver Broncos general manager John Elway met with Auburn quarterback Jarrett Stidman at the NFL combine last week, according to The Denver Post‘s Ryan O’Halloran.

The Broncos did not meet with the “Big Four” QB’s in this year’s class — Dwayne Haskins, Kyler Murray, Drew Lock and Daniel Jones — but they did meet with lesser-known prospects including Stidman and Bosie State’s Brett Rypien (the nephew of two-time Super Bowl champ Mark Rypien).

Stidham (6-3, 215 pounds) transferred from Baylor to Auburn and became a two-year starter with the Tigers. He completed 63.6 percent of his passes for 5,952 yards and 36 touchdowns against 11 interceptions from 2017-18.

Stidham is the eighth-best QB in this year’s class, according to rankings from Draft Wire’s Luke Easterling.

“Stidham makes good decisions and rarely makes an unforced error,” Draft Wire’s Gavino Borquez wrote in January. “He lacks NFL arm strength, but makes up for it with a decent amount of velocity, timing, and ball placement to all parts of the field.”

Stidham is projected to be selected sometime between the third and fifth rounds, according to Charlie Campbell of WalterFootball.com. Denver owns eight selections this year, including four picks between the third and fifth rounds.

This year’s draft will begin on April 25 and will be held in Nashville.
