Broncos met with OT Jonah Williams at NFL combine

The Denver Broncos met with Alabama offensive tackle Jonah Williams at the NFL combine, according to The Athletic’s Nicki Jhabvala.

Williams (6-5, 301 pounds) is a versatile offensive lineman, earning 29 starts at left tackle and 15 starts at right tackle during his time with the Crimson Tide. He was a unanimous first-team All-American in 2018.

With Jared Vedlheer about to hit free agency, the Broncos could certainly use more depth (and a long-term option) at right tackle. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Denver add multiple tackles to the roster this offseason.

Williams is the No. 1 offensive tackle in this year’s class, according to Luke Easterling of Draft Wire (view the complete rankings here). Draft Wire’s latest mock draft as the New York Giants selecting Williams sixth overall.

“Williams has all the makings of an NFL offensive lineman, regardless if he plays as a tackle or guard at the next level,” Draft Wire’s Gavino Borquez wrote last month. “His technical and athletic ability make it likely he is one of the top players at his position selected in this year’s draft.”

Williams may be an option for the Broncos with the 10th overall pick.
