Broncos met with Louisville WR Jaylen Smith at Senior Bowl

The Denver Broncos met with Louisville wide receiver Jaylen Smith after a Senior Bowl practice last month, according to Draft Wire’s Gavino Borquez. He is not to be confused with Jaylon Smith, a Dallas Cowboys linebacker.

Smith (6-4, 210 pounds) posted respectable numbers during his four-year career with the Cardinals, hauling in 152 receptions for 2,505 yards and 15 touchdowns. His best season came in 2017 when he caught 60 passes for 980 yards and seven touchdowns.

With Emmanuel Sanders coming off a torn Achilles, Denver would be wise to add more depth to the wide receiver position. Smith may be one of the prospects the team is considering this offseason.

Smith is the 22nd-best wide receiver in this year’s class, according to Charlie Campbell of WalterFootball.com. He is projected to be selected between the third and fifth rounds. The Broncos own five selections between the third and fifth rounds of April’s draft.

The NFL draft will take place in Nashville from April 25-27.
