Broncos met with DL Kingsley Keke at NFL combine

The Denver Broncos met with Texas A&M defensive lineman Kingsley Keke at the NFL combine earlier this month, according to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle. Keke would likely play as a defensive end in a 3-4 defense like Denver’s.

Keke (6-3, 288 pounds) ran a 40-yard dash in 4.95 seconds and ran a 20-yard shuttle in 4.46 seconds at the combine. NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein has compared him to Mario Edwards, who was a second-round pick in the 2015 NFL draft.

During his four years with the Aggies, Keke totaled 150 tackles (including 21 tackles for losses) and 12.5 sacks. He also broke up seven passes, recovered three fumbles and forced one fumble.

“He possesses good natural power in his body,” Draft Wire’s Gavino Borquez wrote of Keke in January. “His bulk is thorough and allows him to draw strength from multiple areas.”

With Derek Wolfe getting older (he’s 29 years old now) and Adam Gotsis set to become an unrestricted free agent in 2020, Denver would be wise to add more depth at defensive end. Keke is likely among the prospects the Broncos will consider in April’s draft.
