Broncos may be quiet after making 2 moves in free agency

The Denver Broncos will officially sign offensive tackle Ja’Wuan James to a four-year, $51 million contract and defensive back Kareem Jackson to a three-year, $33 million contract on Wednesday afternoon.

After those two moves are completed, Broncos general manager John Elway may be quiet on the free agency front for a bit. After dishing out $84 million worth of contracts, Denver might be done making splash moves.

The Broncos plan to “sit tight to see if there’s good values in next day or two,” according to KUSA-TV’s Mike Klis. So while Denver may not be done making moves, any future deals might be depth signings instead of immediate starters like James and Jackson.

Elway currently has eight picks to use in April’s draft so the Broncos can fill many more holes on the roster with rookies. Denver picked fifth overall last year and the team’s draft class included Bradley Chubb, Courtland Sutton, Royce Freeman, Josey Jewell and DaeSean Hamilton. The Broncos will select 10th overall this year.
