Broncos look awful in 30-6 loss to Chiefs

Well, that was hard to watch.

The Broncos’ offense marched right down the field against the Chiefs on their first drive Thursday evening to score and take an early 6-0 lead (Denver failed to convert a two-point attempt).

After that, Kansas City controlled the game and went on to score 30 unanswered points, winning 30-6.

Even after star quarterback Patrick Mahomes left with a knee injury, the Chiefs were all over the Broncos.

Kansas City’s defense racked up nine sacks, harassing Denver quarterback Joe Flacco throughout the contest. Flacco fumbled on one of those sacks, and the Chiefs picked it up and ran it in for a defensive score.

With the loss, the Broncos dropped to 2-5, essentially killing their slim hopes of reaching the playoffs. With the win, Kansas City improved to 5-2 and made a statement that they are the team to beat in the AFC West.

Up next for Denver is a road game against the Colts (3-2) on Oct. 27. Indianapolis defeated the Chiefs 19-13 on the road last week.
