Broncos Letting Defensive Coordinator Out of Contract, per Report

The Broncos and new head coach Sean Payton are letting defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero out of his contract with the franchise, and he is now free to interview elsewhere, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

While Evero has interviewed for some open vacancies since the end of the regular season, including for head coaching jobs with the Colts and Cardinals, his contract situation with Denver has precluded him from interviewing for some of the open positions.

Now that he’s been released from his contract with Denver, that has now changed.

Rapoport’s report also noted that Evero is expected to interview for the Vikings’ defensive coordinator vacancy, where he is considered to be a strong candidate alongside Pittsburgh assistant Brian Flores.

It’s also anticipated that Evero will interview for the open defensive coordinator job in Carolina on Frank Reich’s staff, per Pro Football Talk

The Broncos had plenty of issues this season in a disappointing campaign, but the defense wasn’t one of them. As a result, Evero is a very sought after coach this offseason.
