Broncos land safety Grant Delpit in 2020 NFL mock draft

In his latest 2020 NFL mock draft, Draft Wire’s Luke Easterling has the Denver Broncos selecting LSU safety Grant Delpit in the first round.

Easterling explained in his mock that Delpit would be more of a “value pick” than a “need pick” for Denver but the Broncos may actually end up needing a safety in 2020 with Justin Simmons and Will Parks both about to become free agents.

“Denver has holes on both sides of the ball, but Delpit is the kind of three-down playmaker who can line up anywhere on the field and create problems for opposing offenses,” Easterling wrote. “He’s the rare safety prospect worthy of a top-10 pick.”

Delpit (6-3, 203 pounds) is a junior safety who has totaled 16 tackles through four games with the Tigers this season. Last year, he racked up 74 tackles, five interceptions and five sacks. He also forced a fumble and recovered a fumble as a sophomore.
