Broncos land QB, WR and OL in Todd McShay’s latest NFL mock draft

Todd McShay’s latest NFL mock draft for ESPN is a “best case scenario” for each team. He mocks who he believes each team should pick, not necessarily who he thinks they will pick. He calls it a “Grade-A” mock (subscription required for link).

In his Grade-A mock, McShay has the Denver Broncos selecting Missouri quarterback Drew Lock with the 10th overall pick in the first round. Lock (6-4, 225 pounds) has been a popular mock pick for the Broncos over the last few months.

As a senior with the Tigers last year, Lock completed 62.9 percent of his passes for 3,498 yards with 28 touchdown passes against eight interceptions. Most draft analysts rank him among the top three QBs in this year’s class.

In the second round of McShay’s mock, Denver lands South Carolina wide receiver Deebo Samuel, who visited the team’s facility with Lock last week. Samuel could be an explosive slot receiver in the NFL.

In the third round of the mock, the Broncos select Charlotte offensive tackle/guard Nate Davis, a player McShay believes could help replace Billy Turner, who left the team during NFL free agency.

This year’s draft will begin on Thursday, April 25 and conclude on Saturday, April 27. Denver currently owns eight selections.
