The Denver Broncos have been underwhelming on offense and defense over the last three weeks, and coverage on special teams has been poor at times. Their kicker has stood out, though.
Brandon McManus is a perfect 12-of-12 on field goal attempts this season and 12-of-12 on extra point attempts. Only five other kickers have been perfect on field goal attempts this year and all of them have fewer than 10 attempts. Four other kickers have been perfect on both FGs and PATs.
McManus has also had 74.2% of his kickoffs go out of the end zone for touchbacks, which represents the ninth-best percentage in the league (Blake Gillikin ranks No. 1 at 100%, but he has only kicked off twice).
The most field goals McManus converted in a single season was 30 in 2015, the year Denver won Super Bowl 50. At his current pace of two per game, McManus is on track to convert 34 field goals in the team’s first-ever 17-game season.
