Broncos injury report: 2 players ruled out for Week 1

The Denver Broncos have ruled out fullback Andy Janovich (pectoral) and inside linebacker Joe Jones (triceps) for Monday’s game against the Oakland Raiders. Starting inside linebacker Todd Davis (calf) is doubtful to play.

Alexander Johnson seems to be the frontrunner to start in the place of Davis on Sept. 9. Corey Nelson will likely replace Jones on special teams and tight end/fullback Andrew Beck will fill in for Janovich.

Elsewhere on Denver’s injury report, defensive back Bryce Callahan (foot) is listed as questionable and safety Trey Marshall (neck) has been cleared to play.

For the Raiders, guard Gabe Jackson (knee) has been ruled out. Defensive lineman Corey Liuget (knee), linebacker Nicholas Morrow (ankle) and wide receiver J.J. Nelson (ankle) are listed as questionable.

Oakland cut wide receiver Antonio Brown on Saturday so he obviously won’t play against the Broncos. In three career games against Denver, Brown has caught 29 passes for 330 yards and two touchdowns.

Monday’s game (8:20 p.m. MT) will be nationally televised on ESPN.
