Broncos injuries: Todd Davis did not practice Friday

Denver Broncos starting inside linebacker Todd Davis (calf) did not practice Friday, making him a longshot to play against the Oakland Raiders on Sept. 9.

Alexander Johnson is listed as Davis’ backup on the Broncos’ depth chart and he will likely start against the Oakland Raiders in Week 1. Denver has no reason to rush Davis back from his injury.

Elsewhere on the injury report, inside linebacker Joe Jones (triceps) and fullback Andy Janovich (pectoral) both missed practice Friday. Neither player is expected to suit up for Monday’s game in Oakland.

Corey Nelson will likely replace Jones on special teams and tight end/fullback Andrew Beck will fill in for Janovich.

Denver defensive backs Bryce Callahan (foot) and Trey Marshall (neck) were limited.

For the Raiders, wide receiver Antonio Brown was back at practice Friday after being absent Thursday. Brown was originally expected to be suspended after into a dispute with general manager Mike Mayock but he apologized during a team meeting Friday and is expected to play in Week 1.

Elsewhere on Oakland’s injury report, guard Gabe Jackson (knee) missed practice again Friday and is not expected to play Monday.

Defensive lineman Corey Liuget (knee), linebacker Nicholas Morrow (ankle) and wide receiver J.J. Nelson (ankle) were limited.

Monday’s game (8:20 p.m. MT) will be nationally televised on ESPN.
