Broncos injuries: Surprise! Justin Hollins was able to practice Wednesday

After Denver Broncos rookie linebacker Justin Hollins suffered a knee injury in Week 5, coach Vic Fangio said he would be “kind of week-to-week” during his Monday press conference.

Based on that recovery timeline, we assumed Hollins would at least miss Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans and perhaps multiple games. But Hollins was out at practice on a limited basis Wednesday, which is a positive sign for his chances of suiting up this weekend.

Broncos right tackle Ja’Wuan James (knee) and inside linebacker Josey Jewell (hamstring) also practiced on a limited basis Wednesday. Once fully healthy, James will likely reclaim the starting job from fill-in starter Elijah Wilkinson.

Jewell won’t be guaranteed a starting job once he returns. Alexander Johnson started in the place of Jewell last week and he played well. Johnson will likely keep his starting job as long as he continues to perform at a high level.

Safety Kareem Jackson (hamstring), safety Trey Marshall (lower leg), nose tackle Mike Purcell (knee), wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders (knee) and wide receiver Courtland Sutton (lower leg) were also limited.

Denver cornerback Bryce Callahan (foot) was the only player held out of practice with an injury (guard Ron Leary was given a veteran rest day). Callahan is likely still at least two weeks away from a potential return to the field.

For the Titans, outside linebacker Sharif Finch (shoulder), cornerback Chris Milton (calf), defensive end Cameron Wake (hamstring) and tight end Delanie Walker (knee) were all held out of practice. Offensive lineman Kevin Pamphile (knee) was listed as limited on Tennessee’s injury report.

Sunday’s game will air regionally on CBS at 2:25 p.m. MT.
