Broncos injuries: Josey Jewell held out of practice again

Broncos cornerback Bryce Callahan (foot) and inside linebacker Josey Jewell (hamstring) were both held out of practice again Thursday, putting their statuses for Sunday’s game against the Chargers in doubt.

De’Vante Bausby will likely start in the place of Callahan. Corey Nelson and Joe Jones will be the favorites to fill in for Jewell.

Right tackle Ja’Wuan James (knee), safety Kareem Jackson (hamstring) and defensive end Derek Wolfe (ankle) were listed as limited on the injury report.

If James is not ready to play on Sunday, Elijah Wilkinson will start in his place. Wilkinson has started the last three games at right tackle. If Jackson is held out, Will Parks will likely start at safety and Duke Dawson will likely fill play during nickel situations.

For the Chargers, safety Nasir Adderley (hamstring), defensive end Melvin Ingram (hamstring), kicker Michael Badgley (groin), tight end Hunter Henry (knee) and running back Justin Jackson (calf) were held out.

Elsewhere on L.A.’s injury report, cornerback Casey Hayward (back), linebacker Thomas Davis (groin), wide receiver Mike Williams (back), tight end Virgil Green (groin) and wide receiver Travis Benjamin (hip) were listed as limited.

Sunday’s game will air on CBS at 2:05 p.m. MT (view the TV map here).
