Broncos injuries: Bryce Callahan returns to practice

Denver Broncos cornerback Bryce Callahan (foot) returned to practice Thursday on a limited basis after sitting out Wednesday. Callahan was limited in practice last week but was ruled out for the season opener against the Oakland Raiders.

If Callahan is ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears, Denver’s top cornerbacks for Week 2 will be Chris Harris, Isaac Yiadom, De’Vante Bausby, Duke Dawson Jr. and Davontae Harris.

Broncos inside linebacker Joe Jones (triceps), offensive tackle Ja’Wuan James (knee) and fullback Andy Janovich were all held out of practice Thursday.

Corey Nelson and Alexander Johnson will likely fill in for Jones on special teams against the Bears. Elijah Wilkinson is set to start at right tackle and tight end/fullback Andrew Beck will fill in for Janovich against Chicago.

In addition to Callahan, inside linebacker Todd Davis (calf) and guard Ron Leary (quadricep) were also listed as limited on the injury report.

For the Bears, tight end Trey Burton (groin) was limited and nose tackle Eddie Goldman (oblique) was held out.

Sunday’s game will air on Fox (view the TV broadcast map here).
