Broncos host TE Noah Fant on pre-draft visit

The Denver Broncos recently hosted Iowa tight end Noah Fant on a pre-draft visit, according to KUSA-TV’s Mike Klis.

Fant (6-4, 249 pounds) ran a 40-yard dash in 4.5 second and bench-pressed 225 pounds 20 times at the combine earlier this offseason. NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein has compared Fant to Eric Ebron, who was a first-round pick in 2014 and earned a Pro Bowl selection last season.

During his three years with the Hawkeyes, Fant hauled in 78 receptions for 1,083 yards and 19 touchdowns. He is the best tight end in this year’s class, according to Draft Wire’s Luke Easterling (view the complete rankings here).

“He will be a constant mismatch for opposing teams because he is too fast for linebackers and simply too big for safeties,” Draft Wire’s Gavino Borquez wrote of the tight end in February. “Fant should have a major impact early in his professional career.”

Though he’s the best tight end in the draft, Fant may not be worth a 10th overall pick. Fans should keep an eye on Fant during the draft, though, just in case the Broncos deem him worthy of a high selection.
