Broncos host DL Jerry Tillery on pre-draft visit

The Denver Broncos will host Notre Dame defensive lineman Jerry Tillery on a pre-draft visit, according to ProFootballTalk.com’s Mike Florio. After choosing to not re-sign Domata Peko, Denver could use more interior depth on the defensive line.

Tillery (6-6, 295 pounds) ran a 40-yard dash in 4.93 seconds and bench-pressed 225 pounds 23 times at the combine earlier this offseason. NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein has compared him to Stephon Tuitt, who was a second-round pick in the 2014 NFL draft.

During his four years with the Fighting Irish, Tillery totaled 133 tackles (including 23 tackles for losses) and 12.5 sacks. He recorded a career-high seven sacks as a senior in 2018.

“Tillery projects best over the B-gap, and will bring a premier pass-rushing interior defensive lineman,” Draft Wire’s Gavino Borquez wrote of the defensive lineman in February.

Tillery is expected to be selected between the first and second rounds of the NFL draft. Denver owns pick No. 41 in the second round.
