Broncos haven’t had any trade discussions — yet

The NFL’s trade deadline (Oct. 29) is drawing closer and there have been plenty of rumors about the Broncos potentially moving players.

Denver has ruled out trading star outside linebacker Von Miller but that hasn’t stopped speculation about wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders and cornerback Chris Harris. Sanders and Harris are both scheduled to become free agents in 2020 so trading them for draft picks would make sense.

During his Friday press conference, though, Broncos coach Vic Fangio indicated that he has not had any talks with general manager John Elway about possible trades.

“We haven’t had any of those discussions yet,” Fangio said. “I don’t know that we will. We’ll see.”

Last week, Elway shot down trade rumors. “We’re trying to win football games and no one from our end is on the trading block,” the GM said.

Elway made that remark before Denver dropped to 2-5, essentially eliminating their slim hopes of reaching the playoffs. Broncos fans will now wait to see if Elway changed his mind about potential trades.
