Broncos have re-signed 2 in-house free agents so far

The Denver Broncos have signed two in-house free agents ahead of the official start of NFL free agency next week. Both of the signings were formalities given the nature of the contracts.

First, the Broncos quietly signed wide receiver Michael Bandy to his exclusive rights free agent tender in January. That news went mostly unreported, but OverTheCap.com — a website that tracks NFL contracts — updated Bandy’s status to reflect him as a “signed” ERFA on Denver’s free agent table.

About a month later, news broke that the Broncos also signed linebacker Jonas Griffith to his ERFA tender. Because they were ERFAs, Bandy and Griffith had no leverage in negotiations — their options were to sign or sit out the season.

Bandy will have a non-guaranteed salary of $915,000 in 2024. With more experience, Griffith will earn a little more ($985,000).

Denver also has a pair of restricted free agents in offensive lineman Quinn Bailey and defensive lineman Jonathan Harris. There have been no reports so far of Bailey or Harris re-signing with the club, but there’s still time.

In addition to signing Bandy and Griffith, the Broncos also signed 14 players to reserve/future contracts earlier this year. Those future deals will become official when the NFL’s new league year begins on March 13. See all the team’s pre-free agency signings below.
