Broncos have just over $11 million in salary cap space entering Week 1

After finalizing a 53-man roster and building a 10-man practice squad, the Denver Broncos have $11,188,874 in remaining salary cap space, according to ESPN’s Field Yates. That’s a big jump from last week when Denver had just $1,570,052 in cap space with 90 players on the roster.

Broncos general manager John Elway has money available to use but Denver probably won’t be making any big signings unless a talented inside linebacker surprisingly becomes available.

The three players with the biggest cap hits this season are linebacker Von Miller ($25.125 million), quarterback Joe Flacco ($18.5 million) and wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders ($12,937,500).

The Broncos may sit on most of their remaining cap space and let it roll over into the 2020 season. Earlier this year, Denver rolled over $8 million worth of unused 2018 cap space to add to the team’s 2019 total.

The Indianapolis Colts have the most cap space in the NFL ($42,083,198) and the New York Giants have the last ($457,948).
