Broncos have about $68 million in salary cap hits on injured reserve

The Denver Broncos have a growing list of injured players that now includes quarterback Russell Wilson (shoulder). Wilson is expected to play this week, but the team currently has 12 players on injured reserve — including four starters who will miss the rest of the season.

Denver will be without wide receiver Tim Patrick, running back Javonte Williams, left tackle Garett Bolles and cornerback Ronald Darby for the rest of 2022. Those players were all key starters before suffering injuries.

Fortunately for the Broncos, there is some good news on the injury front this week as safety Justin Simmons, cornerback Michael Ojemudia and tight end Greg Dulcich are all eligible to return from IR this week.

Until those three players officially return, though, Denver will have about $68.79 million in salary cap hits on IR, according to Spotrac.com.

Here’s a quick look at all of the team’s players currently on IR and their cap hits for the 2022 season.
