As the Denver Broncos prepare to face the Tennessee Titans on Monday Night Football in Week 1, the team is in a good salary cap position.
The Broncos currently have the sixth-most salary cap space in the NFL, according to The MMQB’s Albert Breer. Here are the 10 teams with the most salary cap space in the league entering the season:
| Team | Salary Cap Space |
| 1. Cleveland Browns | $34.74 million |
| 2. New England Patriots | $32.24 million |
| 3. New York Jets | $31.31 million |
| 4. Jacksonville Jaguars | $30.95 million |
| 5. Washington Football Team | $26.03 million |
| 6. Denver Broncos | $25.43 million |
| 7. Detroit Lions | $19.64 million |
| 8. Philadelphia Eagles | $18.49 million |
| 9. Miami Dolphins | $17.09 million |
| 10. Tennessee Titans | $17.08 million |
The Broncos saved $4.5 million in salary cap space when they cut linebacker Todd Davis last week. New linebacker Mark Barron will have a cap hit of $2.5 million this season.
With few teams allowing fans this season, the NFL’s revenue will take a hit, resulting in a lower salary cap in 2021. The league’s salary cap could be as low as $175 million next season. Whatever cap space the Broncos don’t use this year — currently $25.43 million — will rollover into 2021.
