Broncos have $12.4M in salary cap space after re-signing Kevin Hogan

After re-signing backup quarterback Kevin Hogan, the Denver Broncos are down to $12,492,067 in remaining salary cap space, according to figures from the NFL Players Association.

Hogan’s contract details are not yet known but he earned $630,000 in 2019, according to OverTheCap.com. That was the veteran minimum for a second-year player last season.

The veteran minimum for a third-year player in 2019 will be $720,000, so it’s probably safe to assume that’s what Hogan will earn. The 26-year-old QB has dressed for eight games in his career, earning one start.

Hogan has completed 59.4 percent of his throws for 621 yards with four touchdown passes against seven interceptions as a pro.

Recently re-signed tight end Jeff Heuerman will have a salary cap hit of $3,187,500 this year, according to Spotrac.com. He agreed to return to the team on a two-year deal week.

With more than $12.4 million in salary cap space available, Broncos general manager John Elway could still make another signing or two. We recently published a list of four free agents the team should consider adding — check out the list here.
