Broncos guard Dalton Risner earned PFWA All-Rookie Team honors last season and he’s looking to have an even better year in 2020. The arrival of veteran guard Graham Glasgow could help Risner take the next step.
“I’m going to learn so much from Graham in terms of leadership,” Risner said on Aug. 6. “He’s already mentoring me in terms of how to handle myself in the offseason with workouts, stretching and massaging. I’m going to learn a lot from that guy. He’s a great player. He’s really smart, and he’s really calm and collected.”
Risner committed three penalties and allowed 2.5 sacks last season, according to STATS LLC. Glasgow was also penalized three times but he did not allow any sacks.
“Graham brings a lot to the table,” Risner said. “When we picked him up, someone tweeted that we’re getting a very consistent player in Graham Glasgow. That dude is going to be a very consistent player on the football field and just with who he is. I think that’s awesome.”
Risner and Graham are expected to serve as Denver’s starting guards this season and they can both fill in at center if needed. That flexibility will make it easy for Broncos offensive line coach Mike Munchak to move players around if the offensive line suffers any injuries during the season.
