Broncos guard Dalton Risner hypes up quarterback Drew Lock

During an interview with NFL Network’s Andrew Siciliano last week, Denver Broncos guard Dalton Risner spoke about quarterback Drew Lock, who he called one of his best friends.

“Drew Lock is a special character, man,” Risner said on NFL Network on Friday. “My guy Drew loves his macaroni and cheese and his chicken tenders — he’s a human like the rest of us. But one thing I will say about Drew is that he’s one of the biggest competitors that I’ve ever met.”

Lock and Risner quickly became good friends as rookies. Risner had a mischievous way of showing his friendship, like repeating the wrong play in the huddle to get Lock “all riled up.”

Despite his teasing, Risner had endless praise for Lock during his appearance on NFL Network. After the Broncos added more weapons to the offense this offseason, Risner is confident that the team is going in the right direction.

“I think that Drew brings a special edge to the game,” Risner said. “When he gets out on the field, we all get excited. We all believe that when it’s third down and long, Drew can still make something happen — especially with Courtland Sutton out there on the edge and now Jerry Jeudy and KJ Hamler. We have the guys to make it happen.”
