Broncos great Champ Bailey inducted into Pro Football Hall of Fame

Former Washington Redskins and Denver Broncos cornerback Champ Bailey was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio on Saturday evening. Agent Jack Reale served as Bailey’s presenter.

Bailey, 41, entered the league as a first-round pick out or Georgia in 1999 and spent the five years of his career in Washington, D.C. before playing in Denver from 2004-2013. He was selected to the Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility.

Bailey is the first defensive player in Broncos history to reach the Hall of Fame and his 12 Pro Bowl selections rank first all-time among cornerbacks. Only quarterback John Elway earned more All-Star nods than Bailey in the team’s history.

A member of the NFL’s 2000s All-Decade Team, Bailey totaled 52 interceptions during his 15-year career, including 34 interceptions while playing for the Broncos (fourth-most in team history). He led the NFL with 10 interceptions in 2006 and was a finalist for the Defensive Player of the Year award.

Bailey was one of the greatest cornerbacks in league history and he’s now in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, right where he belongs.
