Broncos GM John Elway attended ASU’s pro day

The Arizona State Sun Devils held their pro day on Wednesday, one day after the NFL owners meetings wrapped up. ASU’s Tempe-based football facility is only 20 minutes from Phoenix, where the owners meetings took place.

The school’s proximity to the league meetings was a convenient coincidence. The timing of the football team’s pro day was an intentional decision to draw NFL eyeballs already in the area.

Denver Broncos general manager John Elway and San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch were among the NFL dignitaries that stayed in Arizona for an extra day to attend the pro day.

ASU’s notable draft prospects include wide receiver N’Keal Harry and defensive lineman Renell Wren.

Harry (6-2, 228 pounds) ran a 40-yard dash in 4.53 seconds and bench-pressed 225 pounds 27 times at the NFL combine earlier this offseason.

Wren (6-5, 318 pounds) ran a 40-yard dash in 5.01 seconds and bench-pressed 225 pounds 30 times at the combine.

Elway got a close look at Harry and Wren — and ASU’s other draft-eligible prospects — on Wednesday morning.
