Broncos expected to rule out Phillip Lindsay and Bryce Callahan for minicamp

Denver Broncos coach Vic Fangio said at the NFL owners meetings Sunday that he expects running back Phillip Lindsay (wrist) and cornerback Bryce Callahan (foot) to miss the team’s first minicamp of 2019, according to The Athletic’s Nicki Jhabvala.

The Chicago Bears placed Callahan on injured reserve last December after he suffered a broken foot against the Los Angeles Rams. Denver has no reason to rush the cornerback back onto the field but he may be able to return in time tor training camp this summer.

Lindsay was also placed on injured reserve last December after he suffered a broken wrist against the Oakland Raiders. Lindsay had surgery and is expected to be healthy in time for training camp.

Broncos wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders, who suffered an Achilles injury last December, will also miss minicamp this spring. Sanders believes he will be healthy in time for the team’s season opener in September.

The Broncos will hold their first minicamp of 2019 in April.
