Broncos dropped one spot in NFL power rankings this week

After losing back-to-back games, the 3-2 Denver Broncos are now ranked No. 17 in Nate Davis’ latest NFL power rankings for USA TODAY Sports. That’s down one spot from their No. 16 rank last week.

Here is Davis’ commentary with the Broncos’ rank this week:

They haven’t scored a TD on their opening drive in 24 straight games, the worst streak in the league at present, and their 28.6% third-down conversion rate is the NFL’s worst. Not sustainable.

The Las Vegas Raiders, who Denver will play this week, are ranked No. 23. Elsewhere in the AFC West, the Los Angeles Chargers are ranked No. 6 and the Kansas City Chiefs are ranked No. 10. Davis views the Broncos as the third-worst team in the division, only above Las Vegas.

The undefeated Arizona Cardinals are ranked No. 1 in the power rankings and the Jacksonville Jaguars are ranked No. 32. To view the complete NFL power rankings entering Week 6, visit USATODAY.com.
