Broncos drop out of top 10 in 2020 NFL draft order after consecutive wins

Denver Broncos fans are thrilled about rookie quarterback Drew Lock winning his first two career starts — but there is one drawback. After winning consecutive games, Denver is no longer on track to have a top-10 pick in the 2020 NFL draft. Here’s an updated look at the current order for the top-12 selections, courtesy of Draft Wire:

  1. Cincinnati Bengals (1-12)
  2. New York Giants (2-11)
  3. Washington Redskins (3-10)
  4. Miami Dolphins (3-10)
  5. Detroit Lions (3-9-1)
  6. Arizona Cardinals (3-9-1)
  7. Jacksonville Jaguars (4-9)
  8. Atlanta Falcons (4-9)
  9. New York Jets (5-8)
  10. Los Angeles Chargers (5-8)
  11. Denver Broncos (5-8)
  12. Carolina Panthers (5-8)

If fans had to choose between going 8-8 and selecting 16th overall or going 5-11 and selecting 5th overall, most fans would probably prefer winning out. Winning will build momentum for 2020 and give Lock confidence.

Denver could have well over $70 million in salary-cap space next year and the team will have seven selections in the first four rounds of the draft. The Broncos could have a great offseason even without having a high selection in the first round of the draft.

The 2020 NFL draft will take place in Las Vegas from April 23-25.
