Broncos DL Shelby Harris causing drama for Steelers

Denver Broncos defensive lineman Shelby Harris has unintentionally become the source of some drama in the Pittsburgh Steelers’ locker room.

During a recent appearance on HBO’s “The Shop,” Steelers receiver Antonio Brown criticized quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. Here’s a brief part of his conversation with co-hosts LeBron James and Maverick Carter:

All year, the dude called me out. We lose a game, he’s like, ‘Damn, AB should have run a better route.’

That’s the type of guy he is. He feels like he’s the owner. Bro, you threw this (expletive) to the d-line. How the (expletive) am I going to run a better route? You need to give me a better ball.

Brown is referring to Pittsburgh’s loss to the Broncos in Week 12. Harris won the game for Denver with a game-sealing interception. That play apparently increased tension between Brown and Roethlisberger, who clashed in 2018.

Harris reacted to Brown’s quote with shrugging emojis on Twitter.

Harris almost wasn’t even in position to make an interception.

“I actually did not do what I was supposed to do, but it ended up working out pretty well,” Harris explained after the game.

“During the play, honestly, I did not know what he was trying to do. It was supposed to be a run and he decided to pull it and just throw it. Honestly, I saw it floating up there and [I] just caught it.”

The Broncos went on to win 24-17 and the Steelers ultimately failed to reach the playoffs (Denver didn’t make it, either). Brown has made it clear this offseason that he would like to be traded to a new team.
