Broncos cut OL Andreas Knappe

The Denver Broncos have waived offensive lineman Andreas Knappe, according to The Athletic’s Nicki Jhabvala.

Knappe (6-8, 325 pounds) entered the league as an undrafted free agent out of Connecticut with the Atlanta Falcons in 2017. After spending time with the Falcons, Washington Redskins and Indianapolis Colts, Knappe signed with the Broncos last January.

He spent part of last season on injured reserve and part of the season on the team’s practice squad. He would have been a longshot to make the active roster this summer.

Denver has eight selections to use in the NFL draft next week. After the draft, the Broncos will fill their offseason 90-man roster by signing college free agents.

The team will have to trim its roster down to 53 players in September.
