Broncos coach Vic Fangio pleased with results of first minicamp

Broncos coach Vic Fangio held his first minicamp earlier this week and he was pleased with the results of the training sessions.

“I thought it went great,” Fangio said Thursday. “Guys had a good attitude and they were here to work, even though it’s very early. We had great attendance, great effort and I think we laid some bricks in the foundation to get better here.

“We still have a long ways to go — we have a lot of little things we can improve on — but at least they see themselves on tape now in our systems and they can improve from there.”

Up next for Fangio and his staff is the NFL draft, which will begin on Thursday, April 25. After that, rookies will report for a minicamp in early May. Once the rookie minicamp concludes, veterans will report for the start of organized team activities on May 13.

After OTAs, Denver will have another minicamp June 4-6 before a summer break. Players will report back for training camp in mid-July.
