Broncos coach Vic Fangio has Bradley Chubb watching film of Khalil Mack

Playing under then-Bears defensive coordinator Vic Fangio last season, outside linebacker Khalil Mack totaled 47 tackles, 12.5 sacks, six forced fumbles and one interception in 14 games.

Fangio is now the Broncos’ head coach and he could help second-year defender Bradley Chubb put up numbers similar to Mack’s.

“Obviously when you see what he’s done with guys in the past, how he moved guys like Khalil Mack last year and stuff like that, it’s definitely something I’m looking forward to,” Chubb said on April 4 when asked about playing under Fangio.

“I feel like for myself that I am a versatile player. I’m excited to see all the things we can do to help out this team.”

To help Chubb learn his defense and picture his role, Fangio has had the outside linebacker watch Chicago’s film from last season.

“That is pretty much all we’re watching right now,” Chubb said. “I’ve got it on the iPad and all of that. Just watching everything the Bears did last year, how they used Khalil, how they used Leonard Floyd. I feel like it’s going to be special.”

Chubb turned in respectable numbers last season — 12 sacks and two forced fumbles — but under Fangio, he could be even better.
